Air Ambulance (MedicAir) Services

For over 20 years, Bar XH has been a preferred contractor of air ambulance services to the provincial government of Alberta. Known as "MedicAir," this service is well-recognized throughout communities in Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia, and provides unfaltering service, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year (366 days on leap years!).

Bar XH's MedicAir is an integral part of 911 emergency response services in Alberta, and can be airborne to anywhere in North America within 30 minutes. Our advanced life support, air ambulance and crew have helped save thousands of lives. Incredibly, we are nearing 1000 Medic Air flights per year.

Southern Alberta MedicAir Society

In a humanitarian effort, Staff at Bar XH, along with Medicine Hat EMS and Medicine Hat Hospital, co-founded the Southern Alberta MedicAir Society. The mandate of this committee is to increase the public awareness and patient comfort during MedicAir transfer. This non-profit society has raised over a million dollars in donations, with the funds being used to advance the medical equipment on board MedicAir aircraft. The society is also currently working on the "Rotary Rescue Project," a project endeavouring to place a helicopter in Medicine Hat.
